History
The place where LIBRUM PALATIUM is located today, on the 1896 y. map of Tbilisi was marked as a summer locks of the “Tbilisi Circle”.
On the 1924 y. map of Tbilisi summer locks of “Tbilisi Circle” is marked as the Club
In 1930s at the beginning of the Marjanishvili str. LIBERUM PALATIUM has been built at the place of summer locks (architects – N. Baratashvili, G.Mikaelian). this and other buildings in the area enhanced formation of the Architectural face of Marjanishvili str. the street itself, became connecting part of two sides of the city, divided by the river Mtkvari.
More than 85 years, LIBRUM PALATIUM played unique role into literacy of the city and and country, in general. Bechdviti Sitkvis Kombinati provided polygraphic and administrative services for Publishing Houses and organizations placed in the building.
High professionalism and the experience of the years made possible to publish unique editions such as: First Georgian Encyclopedia, Bible, “The Knight in the panther’s skin”, dictionaries, school and university textbooks), Medical literature etc.
Joint Stock Company Bechdviti Sitkvis Kombinati enriched old, unique poligraphic devices with modern technologies and still is a reliable partner into production of the books and other printed products.
